Axolotl Eggs
After some extensive research and many many questions asked to Grete_J about Axys, I decided to take the plunge and try raising them from eggs. I ordered 30+ eggs and they came in the mail today. I was told they were about 10 days old, so they should hatch in just a few days, I hope! I could already see them wriggling around.

I sure did! I do that with ANY new critter I want. I asked every single question I could think of to Grete and have even joined on a forum dedicated to Salamanders/Newts/Axolotls, etc. A juvi axolotl would have probably been easier to raise, but I'm never one to usually take the easy route. My "first" snake is a Brazilian Rainbow Boa. lol.

Re: Axolotl Eggs
while I'm waiting thought I would share something.
I'm waiting to hear if I might get to buy a collection of Solomon Island Eyelash frogs ( 4 ? ) from a zoo that wants to change its display.
Been on my wishlist for years.

Re: Axolotl Eggs
I have TWO jobs now. lol. It does make things difficult for daily updated photos. Since my last update I am now up to 38 baby axolotls. I will try to get a new photo of the first to have hatched. Nothing much has changed in 2 days. lol.

I was told they would turn out to be Wild Type and/or Melanoid. I will try to get pictures of a few others that have a variety in pattern. I think most are Wild Type.

Re: Axolotl Eggs
This is as good as I can get for an update. Here is how I have them currently set up.
And I still have more to hatch. I'm up to 40 now. Two more hatched out today.
