A Jaya is transforming!!! DUW

I know I have been silent for a while, mostly because I have been busy and havent added any new animals recently. Plus my laptop broke(I slammed it into the floor) piece of crap. None the less I missed you all. I do have some fantastic news. My Jayapura GTP is starting to change color. This is so fantastic to watch. The amazing thing about GTPs is that you never know when its going to happen. Some have a gradual change which can take months and months, while others seem to change overnight. Mine is looking like its going to be the latter. Over the past two days I have noticed considerable change. Today is no exception.

Ok so today is day 6 since I have noticed the change taking place...its like Christmas every morning when I go in to mist them and I see her more and more brilliant every day. Its breathtaking. Mother nature is an amazing thing. Her dorsal stripe is becoming more and more blue while the green is now more pronounced than the yellow. I love this!!! Her eye caps are starting to go opaque today so I cant wait to see what happens after this shed. STOKED!!! Also she/he?? is putting on size fast.

There are a morph called Canary that stay yellow. Most pure locality GTPs turn green. Some will have more yellow than others. There are some pretty insane "designer morphs" out there that look like they have all the colors of the rainbow in them. Check out the MoreliaViridis.com forum and you will see what I mean. I am not a huge fan of the designer morphs. I love me a green GTP with the bright blue dorsal striping.

Mike Clark, friend of ours here in town that produced mine... has one that started maroon and turned yellow, lol.

canary is not a morph it is a local......canary island.....and there is some being bred to stay yellow from red and yellow to yellow. There are also designer lines which are known gor their yellow. For example lemon tree and os which are some of the original yellow lines.
